This is the one that got me into her in the first place. I love the instrumental background as well. I really liked this one from the first time i listened to it. I love the lyrics thoĭeja Vu: the underrated single. I’d say this one is probably my least favorite in terms of melody. She did a great job making songs about teenage love while managing to make them about different steps of the relationship. It’s a good thing she followed with a song like Good 4 U that showcases her vocal abilities moreġ step forward, 3 steps back: I like the fact that the lyrics in this one aren’t about a breakup but more about her insecurities and the issues within the relationship. I saw many people dismiss her for being another whisper singer because of it. I know I’ll be listening to this often when I want to cry hahaĭrivers license: we all know this one already! I have to say tho, it was tricky to debut with this one because hearing it, you’d think she’s a whisper singer. I like the ethereal vocals and the lyrics are very sweet. Traitor: this one reminds me a lot of young Taylor Swift. It reminds me of the songs from that Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning movie, the Runaways The lyrics are very smart, and perfect to open an album about adolescence. The album starts with a BANG! with that Brutal beat! I love it a lot. Sorry this is long, I typed it while listening.
That’s my review of this album it is a 10/10 for me I like all the songs and think this is a great debut album. “Hope he took his bad deal and made a royal flush” is such a descriptive lyric that I really like and “with the courage to unlearn all of their hatred” I feel like the 2nd verse speaks to a lot of young girls who are tasked with raising their siblings. It definitely feels more like a song aimed towards lost friendships and I appreciate that. Hope ur ok - the message of this song is completely different to what I expected and I really like that it is the closing track. I will say I am not a fan of the abrupt ending in this particular song. I also like her vocals in this song and the chorus. I think you could tell that the song has a different producer than the other songs, which isn’t a bad thing because I do like her current producer, Dan Nigro, but it doesn’t hurt to switch it up sometimes.įavorite crime - I like how she paints a picture of the person being a criminal in this song and I feel like the story flows very well. Jealousy jealousy- I didn’t like this at first listen, but I listened to it again and I really enjoy it! I like the message behind the song and how she talks about how social media makes us want the lives of people we don’t even know. Same as the last one I really like the lyrics in this song and the part where she goes “but don’t be happier” Happier - I really liked the song, I have heard it before since released a small snippet of it 1-2 years ago. I like the lyrics she used and this is one of the 3 songs she wrote by herself on this album. I did feel like it was written in a similar format to Mr Perfectly Fine where in the beginning she is sad/heart broken but by the end she is hopeful for future relationships and what is to come.
I feel like this song could fit well on a rom com movie sound track.ĭeja vu - I like it already talked about it in another thread.Įnough for you - this song made me feel like crying. I like how it feels like there are birds in the background of this song as well. It feels like she was just sitting her room and singing which I feel added a personal touch. My favorite line is definitely “God I wish you would have thought this through before I went and fell in love with you.” I also like how the music stops for a beat when she calls him a traitor.ĭrivers license- I like this song, I have already heard it and shared my thoughts in another thread.ġ step forward, 3 steps back - I love the simplicity of this song. It’s just her being a dramatic teenage girl. This song is dramatic, but that’s what I like about it. Traitor - one of my favorites, The chorus is really catchy and she sings it well. I also like how it slows down near the end, I think the effect is cool. I really enjoyed it and will be listening to it regularly.īrutal - I love the bass in this song and how it give off a rock vibe, i also think this song was just about her wanting to vent and let out all her frustrations which I liked. I have listened to all the songs, personally the album has no skips for me.
